- Pat Surguy, violin
- Has a rich musical background with over 30
years of playing. She holds a Bachelor of
Science Degree, music education emphasis,
from Portland State University. She has
performed with the Central Oregon
Symphony, UTSA Symphony Orchestra,
Portland State University Symphony
Orchestra and the Chehalem Symphony
Orchestra. Her last chamber music
experience was the Clavis Piano Trio in
Oregon. She is currently Concertmaster of
the Starlight Symphony Orchestra and also
plays 1st Violin in the Austin Civic Orchestra.
Jill Dalley, violin
- Began her violin training as a child. Through
her teen years she played in four separate
orchestras. As president of Albuquerque
Youth Symphony she performed across the
U.S. and in Vienna, Prague and Budapest. As
an adult, Jill has played with the Richardson
Symphony, the Starlight Symphony
Orchestra, the Lakewood Chamber Orchestra
and quartet. Currently Jill is a member of the
Austin Civic Orchestra and the Temple
Symphony.
Tom Strauch, viola
- Started playing the viola when he was 10
years old. He has performed with the UTSA
Symphony Orchestra, Pasadena
Philharmonic, Campanile Orchestra at Rice
University, and the Oakland Lyric Opera
Orchestra. He is principal viola with the
Starlight Symphony Orchestra and assistant
principal viola with the Austin Civic Orchestra.
Cecile Morgan, cello
- Was born in Austin and has played the cello
for 40 years. She has a Bachelor of Science
degree in Radio/Television/Film from the
University of Texas at Austin. She is a
member of the Austin Civic Orchestra and a
part-time cellist for the Starlight Symphony
Orchestra in Wimberly. She also plays the
bass viola da gamba and recorder.
Kathy Petheram, string bass
- Grew up in rural Kansas. Has a B.A. in
Chemistry and Mathematics from Kansas
Wesleyan University and a B.S. in Chemical
Engineering from University of Iowa. Studied
bass with Hans Sturm and Paul Sharpe.
Played with Clinton (Iowa) Symphony, Sauk
Valley Community Orchestra, various pit
orchestras and miscellaneous groups.
Currently playing with the Austin Community
Orchestra and several church-related groups.
Additional musical pursuits include a recorder
ensemble, organ and directing and playing in
handbell choirs and a handicapped chime
choir.
Chuck Hazlewood, bassoon
- Has a PhD in Fine Arts with emphasis on
bassoon performance from Texas Tech
University, and has played professionally for
over 25 years. Currently, he is an elementary
school music teacher in the Round Rock ISD.
